Xbox series x won't load games from discs.

Hi,

The first party games will support what Microsoft has called 'Smart Delivery'. This means that if you buy a digital version of a Smart Delivery game, you will also get the Series X version for free.

Disc games won't benefit from this feature though, so there will be a separate discs for Xbox One games and Series X games.

Hi, I hope you're doing great out there. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you with your concern.

The issue can be with the disc drive, Casey. When you reset the console, did you choose keep my games and apps or remove everything?

Also, I have here steps that we can try, please perform a power cycle on your console by following the steps below:

POWERCYCLE CONSOLE​​​

"1. Turn off your console by holding the Xbox button on the front of the console for approximately 10 seconds. The console will turn off. ​​​

2. Turn your console back on by pressing the Xbox button on the console or the Xbox button on your controller. ​​"

Thank you for the response. Initially I did the reset keeping the games. When that didn't work I did the factory reset. I also did turn off the machine by holding the power button for 10 seconds and turning back on with the controller and again turning it back on by the console power button.

I saw that on another post and did that also prior to trying to contact Xbox support for help. Their terrible automated assistant sent me back here.

Also, please clear the persistent storage by following the steps below:

Settings > Devices & Connections > Blu-ray > Persistent Storage > Clear > Select "clear" 3 times.

After that, perform a powercycle again, before checking if it's now working.
