Xbox Series X won’t connect to WiFi after latest update

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Xbox Community. I'm sorry to hear that you're having issues connecting your Xbox to your Wi-Fi router. For us to isolate your issue, please provide the exact error message that you're receiving whenever you try to connect to the network.

I understand that you've tried restarting your console. I would recommend that you perform a power cycle to ensure that the system cache will be cleared and the power supply will be restarted. Kindly follow the steps below.

1. Turn off your console by holding the Xbox button on the front of the console for approximately 10 seconds. The console will turn off.

2. Unplug the console's power cable. Wait 50 seconds.

Important: Make sure that you wait at least 50 seconds. This step resets the power supply.

3. Turn your console back on by pressing the Xbox button on the console or the Xbox button on your controller.

If you don't see the green boot-up animation when the console restarts, repeat these steps. Make sure that you hold the power button until the console completely shuts down.

Important If your console is in Sleep mode, the above steps will shut the console off completely. Sleep mode, or the ability to turn on your console by saying "Xbox on," won't be enabled until you restart the console.

I understand that you already restarted your router. However, to ensure that the power supply of your router will reset for any cache to be deleted completely, please do a power cycle by turning off the device, pulling it out of the power outlet for 50 seconds before turning it back on.

If the initial steps does not work, try to connect your Xbox to a different router. You may test it using your smartphone as mobile hotspot and see how it goes. Please keep me posted.

My Xbox X series just said update an I pressed update console but it won’t update

I’m having the same issue. I got a series X about 2 weeks ago and it won’t stay connected to WiFi. It usually will only hold connection for a few minutes, anywhere from 2-20 maybe? A couple times it has maintained connection for multiple hours though that is very rare. It sits next to my Xbox One X and a few feet from my PS5, all of which connect to the same WiFi network without issue. Due to location of the router, a hardwire connection isn’t possible.

Thankyou for the response, I have other things connected to my WiFi and are having no issues with them so my WiFi is on and working, I even pulled out my Xbox one and it’s having the same issues, I’ve reset my Xbox series s, and It won’t even let me finish the setup stages because it just simply won’t connect.
