Xbox Series X USB ports power stops working

The keyboard itself plugs into my controller and the usb, I have plugged into the usb port on the front of my xbox series x. When using the keyboard, the keyboard works but the mic stops working.

There isn't enough power on the bus for the card and the external guessing platter HDD

You need to get a powered USB 3.0 hub, that comes with an external power brick

This was the first time I've had issues with it. I set the system up when I had the original Xbox one around 2015 or 2016 and the USB port layout has stayed the same when I switched to the newer Xbox Series X. The only difference was the switch from a USB 2.0 hub to a 3.0 hub

Since the Xbox Series X has more up to date USB ports, I doubt it would be a lack of distributed power

x1 - USB 3.0 HDD plugged directly into the port on the Series X

x1- USB 3.0 Hub 4-Port (Not independently powered by a power brick)

Yes the portal of power does connect to a usb port. I was wondering since the xbox series x, the console that comes out this year, plays xbox one games i was wondering if the portal of power designed for the xbox one will work with the new console.

yeah i did , i ended up fixing it though it was the cable for my external hdd, the thing that confused me is taking it out didnt fix it right away but after taking that cable out and leaving it for an hour the usb slots came back.

When you say you have tried unplugging the console are you removing all cables plugged in? I had this issue a while back and after unplugging everything from the console including hdmi and ethernet cables, I waited about 10-15 minutes then plugged everything back in and it worked just fine after that.
