    Xbox Series X turns off within 10-20 seconds of usage


    The problem started tonight* after I turned on Netflix and the screen began flickering. I can’t remember if I turned off the Xbox or if it turned itself off. Either way, now the Xbox will turn on and either freeze immediately or it is useable for 20 seconds and the settings can be momentarily accessed (have not tried anything else). The screen flickering is still present.

    I have no idea how to fix this. I have found nothing on the internet that comes remotely close to this. I cannot access the settings to determine if it is an HDR issue (I’m not even sure if my tv supports HDR, it’s a cheap 4K Seiki from 2014). I see no reason why it would randomly stop working when it has been working fine since Dec. 28th.

    Try turning off the xbox by holding the power button for 10 seconds and wait around 20 seconds to turn it on.

    It shuts off within the first 20 seconds of it being turned on, that is, if it will turn on. it has plenty ventilation.

    The first is a clear cache

    1. Go to the Xbox press and hold the XBOX power button on the console for 10 seconds until it turns off

    2. Wait 10 seconds until it turns off

    3. Wait 1 minute with it off

    4. Turn it back on
