Xbox series X sound cutting out through tv

firstly, thankyou in advance to anybody with any ideas!

I have had my xbox series x for nearly 2 years with no issues whatsoever. However in the last few weeks the sound keeps cutting out intermittently (split second cutout every 10 seconds or so). My xbox is connected to samsung neo qled tv and I don’t have a soundbar I just listen through the tv speakers. The cutting out happens when either playing games or watching videos on youtube etc, so I know that a particular game or app isn’t the problem and the tv sound is fine when just watching the tv or a dvd/blu ray so I know the tv isn’t the problem. Has anybody had the same issue or have any idea what could be causing it? Could it be a software issue that needs patching in an update? Or could my xbox be going faulty? Again, thankyou in advance for any help, I haven’t posted on here before.

No worries, no need for Xbox Live Gold as long as you’re playing the game while connected to Xbox network/Internet connection.

But let’s try to switch ends of your HDMI cable first or try a different HDMI cable.

Thankyou so much for your quick response.

I have already tried restarting and powercycling my console as you described, that didn’t work. I do not have xbox live as I prefer to play all games offline, so would be a bit worried about resetting my console in that way in case I lost all my game saves and progress - is it safe to do this without an xbox live account/subscription?

And failing this is there any other thing to try or is my console developing a fault? I was so fortunate to be able to get hold of a series x because at the time they were unavailable for soooooo long and I eventually bit the bullet and got it off ebay, so not sure if it had or has a warranty if it needs repairing? They are only just becoming available to buy from amazon and other retailers now

BTW I have always kept the console in a place where it has plenty of space to avoid overheating.

Hi, I hope you're doing great out there. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you in regard to your concern.

I have here steps that we can try, please perform a power cycle on your console by following the steps below:

POWERCYCLE CONSOLE

1. Turn off your console by holding the Xbox button on the front of the console for approximately 10 seconds. The console will turn off.

2. Turn your console back on by pressing the Xbox button on the console or the Xbox button on your controller.

If that didn't work resetting the console keeping games and apps will be the next option. Don't worry because as long as you're connected to Xbox Live your saved progress, games, will not be deleted. It will remove all of your accounts but you can add all of them later on.

Press the Xbox button to open the guide.

Select Profile & system > Settings > System > Console info.

Select Reset console.

Reset and keep my games & apps.

XBOX Series X, newest patch....sound cuts out minutes after loading. Restart the game and it works for about 2 minutes then cuts out again. It is only the Marvel Avengers game and it is new after the Tachyon rift patch.

I have the same problems playing F1 2020 on my XBOX Series X. Sound is cutting of several times.
