    Xbox Series X shuts itself down 2021


    This is exactly the same issue that people are reporting since November 2020.

    It doesn't matter if the console is standing upright or laying on its side. It shuts off after 15 to 20 minutes of gameplay. Sometimes it even turns off when browsing the store.

    My Xbox Series X is standing up and has plenty of air to cool. I don't think it's a heating issue since it also shuts down when playing Minecraft on 720P or browsing the store.

    What I've tried:
    - Factory reset.
    - Different power cords
    - Switched settings from 4K120 to 720P.
    - PSU Reset

    Any ideas on how to proceed with this issue?
    I already replaced the console at my local Mediamarkt in the Netherlands but that doesn't seem to help.

    Mine just shut down while i was watching sling.

    It has been doing this since i got the console.

    I have ps5 and gaming pc’s so I primarily use this thing as a sling box in my bedroom.

    There is an issue with this console that is yet to be addressed.

    It can be data corruption, but yes, it’s all software errors triggering protect mode based in your description.

    Interesting, so it's the game and not the console causing this? I already contacted 2k support in hopes that they can help fix this issue so now I'm just waiting for their response.

    Some people on reddit seem to have success fixing it, after having their consoles replaced, but the fact that this only happens on game to me makes me unsure of what the problem is.
