    XBOX Series X seagate external hard drive not working


    So today I wanted to play some games, but when I went to my games and apps I noticed the amount of games I had installed was smaller. So i looked at my external hard drive and the light is off. I have tried resetting my console, changed ports, changing my power option settings, pretty much everything every website has recommended to no avail. I plugged it in to my laptop and it worked just fine. The hard drive didn't turn off, but for my xbox it'll turn on for about ten seconds then turn off. I NEED HELP!!!

    Hi,

    External hard drives are not fast enough for Xbox Series X|S titles. Unfortunately you can't play these games off slow USB external hard drives. They need either be installed internally or to an optional Xbox Series X|S Expansion card.

    Xbox Series X|S games can only be installed on the console's internal storage or the external Seagate SSD card. Link here. External drives are too slow for those games. The external hard drive can only be used to install backward compatible games (Xbox, Xbox 360, Xbox One).

    Regular external hard drives are not fast enough to run Series S/X enhanced games properly. So those games can only run from the internal drive or the Seagate expansion card (as that is currently the only external device that will work for those games).

    Any games that are Series S/X optimized can only run on the internal hard drive or the Seagate Expansion card. The external hard drive you are using can only store them.
