  1. Xbox series X screens looks broken and crazy colors when starting HD game

I got my Xbox series X about a month or two ago and have had no issues. Today, every time I start a game that has HD enabled, my screen looks cracked with crazy bright colors.

I tested non HD games and those worked fine. I also turned off HD to try an HD game without it and it worked as well.

I’ve tried hard resetting and power cycling. Nothing works.. Is the hardware that enables my HD just broken? Do I need to send it to Microsoft?

    :)

Xbox series X screens looks broken and crazy colors when starting HD game

Hi, Frank! Thank you for reaching out.
I'm AJ, an Independent Advisor for the Xbox Community.
I'm sorry to hear you are experiencing issues with your console.

    • Would you mind giving this a try? I understand you have already power-cycled your console, but I'd still suggest trying it exactly like this:

    - Press and hold your console's power button, until it shuts down.
    - Unplug any external devices that may be plugged into your console.
    - Unplug your console's power cord for 5 minutes.
    - Turn your TV/monitor off and unplug it for a few minutes.
    - Plug the power cord back in. Please use one of the wall's outlets instead of any extension cord, power strip, or similar devices.
    - Turn your console on and check if the issues persist.

    • If this doesn't work, I'd appreciate it if you could answer the following questions.

    - May I ask what resolution and refresh rate your console is set to? you can see this at Settings > General > TV & display options.
    - Could you give me a few examples of games you are experiencing this with?
    - To clarify, when you say you are having problems with HD, do you mean HDR?
    - May I ask if you have already tried using a different HDMI cord, HDMI port on your TV, or even a different TV/monitor?

Thank you! I'll be looking forward to your reply.
    Best regards.

How do I make Dolby vision become active on 4 k uhd disc play back even when allow box has been ticked

Make sure you have an Xbox Series X, Xbox One X or Xbox One S. In the back of the console, a sticker shows the model. If the adhesive is not, look for it below.
Important before turning the Xbox, make sure there is no album inside and then pour it.

Make sure you have a 4K TV. Check the box or television manual. Not all manufacturers use the same names. These are the denominations you have to look for:

    Names for 4K
4K, 4K Ultra HD, UHD, UHD 4K, Suhd TV, Ultra HD, Ultra UDTV, 2160p
    Resolutions or modes
    3840 x 2160 to 24Hz, 50 Hz, 60Hz, 120 Hz

    Names for HDR
HDR Premium, High dynamic range, HDR, UHD Color, Ultra HD Premium, Ultra HD Deep Color, HDR 10, Dolby Vision
In your Xbox, check the 4K and HDR functionalities of your TV. Press the buttonxbox  to open the guide, then go to profile and system> Configuration> General> screen and television options. Choose 4K television details.

For example, if you cannot select the 4K UHD resolution, 4K features are not admitted on the 4K TV Details, the 4K content does not reproduce or have problems with the quality of the video, try these suggestions.

Make sure Xbox automatically detects the TV. Go to Profile and System> Configuration> General> Screen and television options. In the advanced options column, choose fidelity and video envelope. In the screen column, make sure the automatic (recommended) detection is selected. The 4K feature is not available when HDMI or DVI are selected manually.

If strange colors are shown on the screen when reproducing HDR content, go to profile and system> Configuration> General> screen and television options. In the advanced options column, choose video modes and deactivate the allow HDR10 option.

If this does not solve the problem, it activates HDR10 again. Then, deactivate allow Dolby Vision and check if that solves the problem.
If an error appears when choosing 4K UHD in the screen settings, go to:

Xbox series X has no in game sound but has sound on dashboard and everywhere else

I'am adding myself to the list of people with the issue of audio signal being lost on Xbox Series X switching between apps, home screen or games using a Samsung Q90R

I can only hope that Samsung, Microsoft or both fixes this issues soon.

I also noticed that FreeSync // VRR causing washed out / grayed out colors sometimes when a game is started (being a reproducable issue, happens 1 out of 4 times or so when starting a game) don't know if this has anything to do with the audio issues but wanted to leave this info as well.

    Xbox series x (Box Only)

Many people try to scam others when it comes to new console releases. People are so desperate to buy the new console they don't look at what they are actually buying. For example I seen a PS5 go for $6700 on ebay the other day. That is crazy Also seen
a listing for a xbox series console ( s or x was never stated in the listing) which was the original xbox. Another listing was for a Xbox Series X white edition with a 512gb drive. Obviously this was just the Series S someone was trying to sell as a Series
