Xbox Series X screen goes to static

Well, would be great test with a different screen when you can. This helps you to determine that.

If you're not able to do it my last advise would perform an offline update for your console. In that way Xbox system will be installed from scratch.

I have not. I only have one 4k hdmi port on my tv and I don’t have another 4k cable to swap out. The same port and cable work with different consoles so I’m worried it’s an issue with the Xbox series x.

That hasn’t worked and it’s slowly getting worse. Today while watching paramount+, it went to static for a few seconds then the output went out completely. My tv could not detect any input from the hdmi. This doesn’t happen with any other consoles on the same inputs

That's really odd. I personally didn't experience this on my Series S and X
Let’s try to isolate the issue a bit more, but first ask the following questions:

When this started to happen?
Are you using an insider build / beta OS in your Xbox or are you using a stable OS? <It's a good time to check for updates if you have automatic updates disabled>
May I know if you tried using a different resolution for the console or changing your audio? (For example if you're using 7.1, change it to stereo and try again)

Also, when you say "turn the Xbox off" do you mean only power it off using the option inside settings or long pressing the Xbox button in your controller?

If yes, please try power cycling your console:
1. Turn off your console by pressing the Xbox button on the front of the console for about 10 seconds, until it shuts down completely.
2. Unplug the console's power cable from the console and from the power outlet. Wait 5 minutes.
Important: Be sure to wait at least 5 minutes. This step resets the power supply.
3. Plug the console power cable back in.
4. Press the Xbox button on your console to turn it on.

If you already tried that, tell me what else did you tried

If the issue persists after that, please try in this case doing a factory reset for your console:

Go to Settings > System > Console info > reset > then select keep my games and apps
