    Xbox Series X/S July 2022 update bug


    Following a console update, my Series S no longer sees my external hard drive. Confirmed this is a bug in the update as friend with a Series X has the same problem.

    OS version 10.0.22000.4976

    Installed July 22, 2022

    Last time external HDD accessed was earlier same day as update, problem discovered following day. All recommended trouble shooting attempted, except for console reset. After confirming a friend has the same problem, I know this is an Xbox bug, not my particular system.

    Looking for Xbox/Microsoft to acknowledge this issue and an ETA for a fix.

    Upgrading from Xbox one games to X/S

    Specifically for F1 2022, you would need to purchase the Series S/X version. The Standard Xbox One version is not optimized for the Series S and X consoles.

    Most games launched for both the Xbox One and Series S/X consoles if installed on a Series S/X console will just download and update the necessary files to run optimized to the Series S/X console.

    Now F1 2022 has two versions: the Standard Xbox One version and the Series S/X version. I'm not really sure, but I think the Standard Xbox One version will not update to the optimized Series S/X as it is a different game version.

    Do you have the Standard Xbox One version?
