My Xbox Series X/S is cut off on all edges of my Polaroid 49” TV. There are no native settings on the TV to fix this I’ve gone through the menu hundreds of times. The only thing that has shown any promise was forcing my Xbox video overscan mode into DVI instead of the HDMI that it’s connected to. I can finally see the full image on screen but of course there is no audio. Is there any way to get audio directly from the Xbox Series X/S. There are no optical/RCA outputs, no aux output or anything on this $500 piece of technology. Would an HDMI splitter that leads one end to the TV and one end to an HDMI>RCA converter into speakers work with the DVI setting? Would running an optical out from the TV allow audio to play? I just can’t comprehend why DVI would be an option if it doesn’t allow audio and there’s no audio output on the physical Xbox. There are absolutely no solutions to this online and anything closely related are for an Xbox One which apparently has the outputs necessary for this.

    :)

Hello, first it's a pleasure to be able to help you today.

My name is welcome to the community.

Hello Colton, unfortunately in the new generation consoles Microsoft has removed the optical audio output that existed in previous models.

In your case I see some possibilities to split the audio.

The first would be with an HDMI splitter with independent audio output, but there are several models and if it has an RCA output as desired, it means that it has a transciver and has changed the audio from digital to analogue.

The second would be if your TV or monitor has an audio output that you can connect to another device.

And the third would be some kind of home theater that has HDMI inputs and audio outputs.

Polaroid is a bargain TV. It doesn’t have the features of even most midranges. This is likely an old design that carried over DVI.

DVI does not carry audio. It’s meant for computer use. TV always has overscan. You should check your manual to see if your TV has a mode to eliminate it on other inputs but at this price point it’s a 50/50

Optical, RCA, and component outputs have been eliminated by the entire consumer electronics industry

You have two options in addition to what George’s suggested. Buy a new TV, or buy an audio receiver. The latter will give you all the audio output options you could hope for as well as much better audio at +/- $150 to start, the former of course will solve the problem by brute force, but you may not wanna spend that kind of money

S/Pdif to RCA Audio Adapter for Xbox One

Xbox One has 2 outputs - one HDMI and one Optical Audio (s/pdif). HDMI carries both audio and video. But if you want to send your audio to a receiver that does not have HDMI inputs, then you can use the optical output from Xbox One. PS4 is exactly the
    same.

And William is right - if you try converting HDMI to DVI, you will lose the audio on both Xbox and PS4 (unless you are using the separate optical output for audio).

Xbox Series S at 120hz on a DVI monitor

Even if you get one, there is no guarantee such an adaptor will work. The Xbox Series X and S consoles expect the display to output to an exact timing. It's likely that the DVI port has a different timing (like 119.88Hz or something like that). If the monitor does not not output the correct timing that the Xbox expects, it will not work, no matter what adaptor you buy. This is a display issue, not a console one.

It must be a pretty old monitor if it only has DVI and HDMI. There are plenty of gaming monitors that support the Series X|S, it might be a time to buy a new one.

Just because a display is 144Hz, does not mean it will automatically work on an Xbox console. Unlike the Xbox console, PC graphics cards don't need to have exact timings.

Getting static sound from aux port of xbox one x console

Hello again, the console's HDMI IN only accepts input signal, i.e. receives signals from another device.

If your console is Xbox One S or X, you have the Optical Output (S/PDIF) Out that can be connected to your Speaker if it has (S/PDIF) In.

If your console is series s or x it won't have this output.

I don't know what inputs and outputs you have in your speaker, so I don't know which connection would be best to use.
