had the Xbox about a year and only play it now and again. A few months ago I notice when playing fifa that the players would run off in random directions and then when I was on the menu it scrolls up and down rapidly on the dpad and the left stick at first I thought it was the controller so I used my other one and I now have the same problem a month later

    :)

You will still have to get your controller serviced. Opening it on your own to investigate what the issue may be, may cause your warranty to be null and void.

Can you get stick drift on the dpad as well ? Seems to be most buttons surely it wouldn’t happen on a month old controller?

Hi. My name is Brilliant, an independent advisor, happy to assist you today.

What you're experiencing is called stick drift. This is when a controller's joystick no longer responds accurately to your input or when they move, or drift, on screen without touching it.

I advise you get your controller serviced. If you've registered your device, sign in at Device services to see the device's warranty status. If it's within warranty, repairs are free. If your device is out of warranty, you'll be charged a repair fee.

If you haven't yet registered your device, follow the steps here: https://support.xbox.com/help/hardware-network/warranty-service/register-your-product

For more details on getting your Xbox device serviced, kindly visit: https://support.xbox.com/help/hardware-network/warranty-service/getting-your-product-serviced

I hope this helps resolve your query.

Don’t think it’s the problem because it does it on the dpad to thanks anyway👍🏼

No. It does not affect the dpad. It should not happen on a new controller, but if it has, you can register your controller for service and repairs.
