Xbox Series X rapid blinking

This happened only once and out of nowhere, and it hasn’t happened again (only happened 5 minutes ago as of time of this post), but I was watching YouTube when I noticed my controller disconnected, and I had to re-pair it. No biggie. I went and started the pair process, and the controller was acting as it should, however, when i held down the pair button on my Series X, it didn’t do its usual blinking as it should when searching for a device to pair with. Instead, it blinked twice rapidly, paused, blinked twice, paused, so on and so on until the Xbox completely powered off. It seems to be working correctly now after a full reboot, but I’m concerned if this is a hardware issue that will come back later. Hoping it was just a system glitch, but I wanted to make sure here. If it’s a sign that it’s breaking… that’d be upsetting lol. Thanks!

Edit: Console wasn’t overheating or anything either. No other sign of the console struggling, just randomly started acting strange. I’ve had wireless device connection issues before, but never to the point where the console acted this way.

Okay great! Thanks for the help. I was worried it was a sign of something worse lol. Got flashbacks of the red ring of death from the 360 days.

It happens to me sometimes but no worries, it can just be fixed by doing a powercycle. Please Turn off console > (press and hold power button for 10 seconds) unplug everything from the console > wait for 2 minutes and plug everything back > Turn On the console.

The rapid flashing of the power button on the Xbox Series X indicates that there may be an issue with the console's power supply or the internal hardware.

Had an Xbox Elite 1 for many years (but dead now...), don't own an Series 2 but never really see what reals benefits i have personnaly to find with the Series 2. Only things i want was "screenshot" dedicated button (on main Series X controller) or "Rapid
Fire" button (not on Elite series)... so .

I have also been having this exact issue on my Series X. The temporary fix is a hard restart (Hold down the xbox button on the xbox until it stops blinking). This started occurring to me yesterday.
