Xbox series x pre order payment

I pre ordered the xbox for my son and i relieved a text from my bank asking me to confirm I'd made the payment,, replied yes and they declined the payment. I've messaged my bank and apparently they don't allow payments to Microsoft for fraud reasons??

What can I do?

How can I pay for it?

there's plenty of money in the bank but I can't seem to get any answers on how I can pay it. My son will be gutted Christmas morning if I can't sort this out.. I've told the bank I authorised this payment and I'm currently on hold to the fraud team. Will
Microsoft try to take the payment again and will barclays allow it now I've told them?

I was lucky enough to obtain an Xbox series X pre order yesterday but in the chaos I selected Paypal as the payment. But I have enough giftcard credit on my account to cover it. . Is there a way to change the payment from Paypal to Microsoft credit
without losing my pre order? I dont see a way to do it.

I dont think so but im sure someone else can correct me if im wrong.

This is not accurate. Ive pre ordered items before with my balance and others have pre ordered the series x with their balance or had MS change theor payment option to their balance after the fact. There is an issuewith the payment system currently thst
theybhope to have resolved by next week. Though ive gotten a nimber of explanations from support agents that vary from “you cant” to “texh issue”.

Have you called Barclays over the phone? I've not heard of Barclays blocking payments from Microsoft. I don't have a Barclays account, but I have purchased things with my Barclaycard (Credit Card) several times without issues.

If you have the Barclays mobile app, be sure you haven't blocked internet payments on your debit card.

Have you ever called them before to block a payment for Microsoft? If you had there maybe a fraud marker against your account. Either way, it's something you're going to need to take up with the bank, Microsoft won't be blocking the payment.

Following the above steps, you can try to change the way to pay for the preorder by going to your

https://account.microsoft.com/billing/orders/, find the preorder, then click on "Change how you pay", you can use a different card in case Barclays can't help. This way you can make sure the preorder will go through once Microsoft start processing the orders
and getting them ready for shipping, which is likely to happen in the new few days.
