Xbox Series X overheating during gameplay - any solutions?

I've recently been experiencing overheating issues with my Xbox Series X while playing graphically intensive games. The console starts to get extremely hot, and after a while, it automatically shuts down to prevent damage. I’ve ensured that it is placed in a well-ventilated area and have tried reducing the resolution and graphic settings, but the problem persists.

Has anyone else faced this issue, and are there any solutions or troubleshooting steps I might be missing? Is it worth trying a cooling stand or should I contact Microsoft support directly? Any advice or similar experiences would be greatly appreciated!

unless it says it's overheating it's not overheating

While you're encountering his Programming errors that the developers need to patch and you need to be reporting these to their tech-support. Your system shuts down in order to prevent data corruption

Usually when there is overheating the console emits a message informing before turning off.

Try connecting the Xbox to another outlet with a ventilated location to check if the same problem occurs.

high-end computer hardware gets hot when it runs, this is its nature.

If it doesn't say it's overheating, it's not overheating. What you're saying is a catastrophic crash bug and the system shuts down to protect itself

You need to report these problems to the game developer is only they can patch their game to prevent these things

don't listen to the ad advisor they have no idea what they're talking about.

Ameeth, if your console has been in use for some time, more than 2 years for example, it is very likely that there is internal dust accumulation, so the next step is to clean all the ventilation grilles, as well as the fan blades of the console. You can use compressed air for this so that it removes all the internal dust without having to open the console.

If, on the other hand, your console is still under warranty, the recommendation is to send it to Technical Service, so that it can be checked.
