  1. Xbox Series X not giving uncompressed audio as options via eArc setup

Xbox Series X connected to Epson LS12000 and Monolith HTP-1 via 8K HDMI cables.

Xbox into HDMI 1 on LS12000. HTP-1 (eArc output) into HDMI 2 (eArc input) on LS12000. Cables are both connected with the Display end at the LS12000. CEC is enable on HTP-1 and input set to TV (for audio) as their literature states. HDMI Link is enable on the LS12000.

I've tried 3 different brands of 8K HDMI cables (Ruipro and Cable matters most recently based on user feedback) and am unable to get full image AND audio quality passing from the Xbox through the LS21000 via eArc to the HTP-1. I only get Stereo Uncompressed/Dolby Digital/Mono options no matter what settings I change in the CEC/eArc chain. But I do get 4K/120 video perfectly with this connection method.

If I run the same HDMI cable from the Xbox directly into the HTP-1 then I get the full list of audio options from the Xbox, but since the HTP-1 is not an HDMI 2.1 device, I cannot get the 4K/120 video using this connection method.

Any help/guidance would be greatly appreciated!

    :)

I realize you're going for uncompressed, Have you purchased the Dolby access app? This enables Dolby Atmos output.

What is your target speaker configuration?

There is another app for DTS spatial

I recommend calling their support, specifically of the mono price processor, as I am unfamiliar with their products at this level. There could also be an HDMI transceiver incompatibility, in which case I would suggest getting an HDMI repeater for about $15 off of Amazon and trying that

I recommend you call monoprice support about it, and check for firmware updates

Xbox Series X not giving uncompressed audio as options via eArc setup

    Hello Ryan Smith_99,

    Greetings!

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

It seems that you are experiencing issues with the audio options on your Xbox Series X when connected to your Epson LS12000 and Monolith HTP-1 via eArc setup. Let us work as a team to find if the issue is related to compatibility.

We will consult this to our internal support team to verify if this is compatibility related issue. We will get back to you for the updates.

On the other hand, consult your receiver, or soundbar manufacturer for performance specifications. Be sure to review their latest support documentation and release notes. Once you’re certain all devices are set up to recommended specifications and all necessary firmware updates are installed, you can set your audio to use eARC passthrough mode on your audio device.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

    Sincerely,

Xbox Series X not giving uncompressed audio as options via eArc setup

    Hello Ryan Smith_99,

    Thank you for patiently waiting.

We have received updates from our internal support team about the issue you are experiencing. If the source does not give the full list of audio option when connecting it to your Epson LS12000, it could be that the device does not support the audio option that you are looking for. You can check from the manufacturer of your Epson LS12000 to see if the audio is supported or if it can be enabled with various settings.

We thank you for bringing this concern and glad to point you to the right support team where you can get the most accurate information for your concern.

    Sincerely,

Xbox One X: Enhanced Audio Return Channel (eARC) support

As the Xbox One X is an audio source, it doesn't need to send or receive audio via ARC or eARC.

Audio Return Channel is only for TV's that are supposed to "return" Audio back to an AV receiver or connected Soundbar.

As the Xbox One X doesn't have speakers to play audio recieved through ARC, it won't support "ARC" or "eARC". Your TV needs to support ARC or eARC.

What exactly is your TV and console setup, that you would need eARC in the Xbox One X?

Atmos Delay fix (worked for me, at least) and audio detection issues

Sure Geri, thanks for the reply. As an update, I ran further tests with Xbox support via phone this morning. Long post, but....

    Results as follows:

    Connection path - Series X > HDMI 2.1 cable > Samsung QN85B HDMI port 4 > QN85B eARC port (2.0b spec) >HDMI 2.1 cable > HW-Q700A eARC port (2.0b marketed as 2.1 48gbps port)

Enabling game mode results in Xbox detecting capability for DD 5.1 (COMPRESSED), Stereo Uncompressed and Atmos. Enabling/disabling game surround sound option in TV game mode settings causes no detection change. Disabling game mode entirely allows detection of 5.1 uncompressed audio capability by Xbox. No lag, no drop out. Crisp and clear audio. However this also disables Auto HDR recognition by TV, even if 4:2:2 check box is enabled in video settings. Games with built in HDR do initiate QMS in TV for HDR mode. As previously noted, in 1 of 20 attempts at cycling CEC on Series X I did get a positive pull for 7.1 uncompressed, but it disabled as soon as I opened a streaming video app.

When switching display mode from auto detect to HDMI in Xbox video settings, Xbox loses positive detection for 4K 60/120, HDR and VRR (I'm aware this is a known issue) however I gain positive detection on additional audio formats the HW-Q700A is capable of. (Dolby Atmos, Dolby Digital 5.1,

    5.1 uncompressed, 7.1 uncompressed and DTS/DTS:X)

Connection Path: Series X > HDMI 2.1 cable > HW-Q700A > HDMI 2.1 cable > QN85B eARC port (HDMI 2.0B) maintained all correct audio detection, lost 120hz green light but oddly VRR remained active. Inadequate time to test actual framerate output in practice.

Xbox series X currently removed from outsider program builds for testing. Video settings enabled : 4k, HDR 10, Auto HDR, 50hz and 24 hz. Display mode auto detect, 10 bit color with profile set as PC RGB. Switching to any combination of 8bit, 10bit, 12bit, standard and/PC RGB makes no difference in settings detection, but set as is produces marked changes when setting TV color profile to bt.2020.

Maybe a whole bunch of nonsense, maybe something I'm missing. I don't know.
