    Hi, I've just replaced my series x with the limited edition halo one and have a wired internet connection. I always turn the power off to the entertainment unit every night but the next time I turn the Xbox on it has no internet connection and when you go to settings it says its connected and I have to do a restart for it to connect. Also this never happened with my launched series x and I've also tried resetting the console.

    Try to clean the MAC address of your console and set a DNS address.

    Press the Xbox button.

    Move right to the System Tab.

    Scroll down and select Settings.

    Scroll down to Network.

    Select Network Settings.

    Scroll down and select Advanced Settings.

    Scroll down and select Alternate MAC Address.

    Select the Clear button, then restart your console.

    Then

    Press the Xbox button on your controller.

    Go to Settings.

    Select Network.

    Select Network Settings.

    Select Advanced Network Settings.

    Select DNS Settings.

    Select Manual and enter the following: Primary 8.8.8.8. Secondary 8.8.4.4.

    I have the same issue on my Xbox series X I hard reset the console and now its worse than before I reset it. I started up my Xbox one X and no issues with that when I started up a game.

    Fair enough, a slow internet connection is as good excuse as any.

    Be aware however that while that drive will work on Series X, you won't be able to play Series X games directly from it. Series X games will require faster access and read speeds. My understanding is that the Series X games can be 'backed up' on an external
    drive and then need to copied/moved over to either the internal SSD or the External SSD's that will be available for the machine.

    The Series X will read and play Xbox One games from an external drive though.

    I'm planning on running my 360 and XB1 games from an external drive, but because my internet isn't the fastest I wanted to start downloading the Series X upgrades now, ready to transfer to the Series X's internal storage so they'd be ready to play sooner.
    I'll make do with the non-Series X games until they've been installed then.
