Xbox series X No download progress

Hello,

Ive recently been having issues with my xbox series X downloads (game updates and downloads).

In the queue it states updating but there is no speed in the top right corner and the bar doesn't progress. It may start downloading for half a second at a random speed every 2 minutes or so but then stop instantly.

I am currently using wifi only connection and my speed test comes up at around 50 Mbps which is good for my area. I can join parties and play online games with occasionally lag but the downloads are the biggest issue.

Watching youtube or Netflix seems to be fine and the other devices in the house have no issue

If i take the console to my other house or hotspot from my phone there is no issue with download speed or lag so not an issue with the console.

I have tried:

- power cycling router and console

- using wired connection

- opening NAT type

- attempted port forwarding

- new NBN box

- enabling QOS

My ISP said there should be no issue as the speed test and network test show everything is fine.

I have been spending day and night trying to find a solution and i’m running out of ideas. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated

It is April and I just bought an Xbox Series X and downloaded this game.

I can't even progress past Foundation. I cannot believe this isn't resolved.

I am sorry to hear that.

Since the downloads are working normally with your hotspot connection and on your other house network, the problem is limited to your Internet Provider connection.

The problem you described sounds like a packet loss* (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Packet_loss) issue.

Try calling your Internet Provider and ask them to check the packet loss while you are downloading a game from your console.

When you opened your NAT, did you set the console IP on your router DMZ?

Have you tried to change your connection DNS?

I will send instruction on how to do both, in case you haven't tried yet.

A) On your Router

1. Make sure to use the ethernet cable connection, it is more reliable than the Wi-Fi one. (If possible)

2. You then, have to assign a static (fixed) IP for your Xbox console on your router, which will enable you to do the next steps

3. Turn on DMZ under the IP you selected for your Xbox Console.

4. Turn on UPnP on your router

By doing that, you'll pretty much have an open and direct connection to the game servers.

B) On the Xbox Console

Configure the network settings accordingly.

Enter the Settings menu.

Under the General tab, select Network Settings then Advanced Settings.

Take note of the information displayed

Select IP Settings > Manual.

Enter the same IP you configured on your router DMZ.

For the DNS change, in case the DMZ does not solve the issue, you can follow these steps:

Go to Profile and System > Settings

In the Settings menu, select General > Network settings.

Select the network you're connected to, then select Advanced settings > Manual

On the DNS field, input these:

Primary: 8.8.8.8

Secondary: 8.8.4.4

Save settings.

I have the Xbox one X project Scorpio, I was told that the game can be downloaded in any serie X or serie S (included mine), thanks for the help!!

Game can only be downloaded on a Series S and Series X, but not an Xbox One X. Xbox One X is not the same as a Series X.
