    Xbox Series X new lag and packet loss?


    Sorry for this post being so long but it’s a bit of a story. So I use to regularly play my Xbox One X using wireless WiFi connection. Download speeds for games were slow but as far as gameplay went I never had any lag of any sort. A while back (last year) I got an Xbox Series S and had it in the exact same spot as my Xbox One X. Once again no lag and it even had a much faster download speed (120-150mbps vs 30-40 on my One X). I eventually was able to get my hands on an Xbox Series X back in March and it is in the exact same spot as where my Series S and One X were at before. The download speed for Series X is slower than my Series S (around 50-60mbps) but initially there was no lag of any sort. Starting in August my Series X started randomly having periods of packet loss up to 15-20% making any multiplayer gaming unplayable for those periods. This packet loss has only become more and more common where it is now happening on nearly a daily basis. Unplugging my motem and factory resetting my Xbox either will only work for a short temporary time period or will not work at all. Thinking it may be my internet, I recently tested to see if my Xbox One X would have the same issue. It plays online multiplayer without any issue whatsoever. I’ve tired all the YouTube methods of boosting internet speed for the console and they have not worked. All other devices on my WiFi network have no problem with the internet. Internet issues seem to only be effecting my Series X. Any suggestions? Sorry again for the long post.

    party chat will not work

    the packet loss is new it started a while ago but according to xbox its on there part and it should be fixed once they sort the packet loss but the thing is i was playing with the 100% packet loss and no problems but then a lag spike happend and even when
    fixed i can only party chat for about 10 seconds

    I have a 100% packet loss with a wired connection on my series x and I can't figure out why or how to fix it any suggestions?

    I am having the same issue. Both hard wire and wireless, I am having 100% packet loss. I have contacted my internet provider, they have already checked the system and on there end everything is great. On my PC I am having no issues. On my PS5 no issues, no packet loss. However on my xbox series x and my xbox one x, I have 100% packet loss and get booted from online games every 3-6 mins.

    I get this across any multiplayer game i play, fifa, Warzone and cold war My internet is fine 221mbps download 20 upload 29 latency no packet loss... doesnt make sense

    The issues are with the game its self. I’ve also experienced this on Cold War, but it’s nothing to do with Xbox. The game isn’t fully optimized hence the lag spikes and bullets not registering. Happens to me too. It could also be your internet. if your internet isn’t the best you could also lag due to bad internet connection. Try other PvP games like MW and see if you get these issues in there. If you don’t then it’s a optimisation with CW.

    No, and even if I did, the setup of my xbox is mounted on a shelf high up.

    Also I just checked my 'detailed network statistics' again, and sadly it says Packet Loss 2%.

    It could be the work done on the paths as our area is getting better Internet, but my brother's Series X runs fine without any signs of lag.
