Xbox Series X Media Remote delay / volume not working

Discus and support Xbox Series X Media Remote delay / volume not working in XboX Insiders to solve the problem; So far loving the Series X, but I’ve had this problem with my media remote where I cannot get the volume to work on my tv.     Xbox Series X Media Remote delay / volume not working


    So far loving the Series X, but I’ve had this problem with my media remote where I cannot get the volume to work on my tv. I saw another post about it so hopefully that’s already known about, but would love to get that resolved.

    In addition and maybe more frustrating is that my media remote is not getting a good connection to the console. It’ll work sometimes but not consistently and I often find myself having to press the same button multiple times pointing it from different angles to get it to work. For reference, I have the official Xbox ONE media remote from years ago but I bought a new Talon remote and am having the same issue. Even when I get right next to the IR Reciever hidden in the sync button on the front of the console, it will not work consistently. Is this an issue anybody has been having? As someone that probably uses my Xbox more often for watching TV and movies, it’s really frustrating not to have a reliable remote and have resorted to just using my controller for the time being.

    In case it matters, I store my console sideways and just under my tv with no furniture between my couch and the Xbox at a distance of only about 5 feet.

    Using PDPgaming Media remote on XBOX Series X console. Remote will not perform HDMI switch when using HDMI-CEC function. XBOX gaming remotes "paired" to console will perform the switch.

    It sounds like the PDP gaming media remote may not be fully compatible with the Xbox Series X console when it comes to HDMI-CEC function.     I think I have the same or similar issue. What's weird is that my Philips HTL2160 soundbar works great using the Kinect voice volume commands but not with the Media Remote. If I use the volume button on the remote my soundbar blinks like something is happening,
    but the volume never changes. Yet, the mute button on the remote works fine. Again, the voice commands work fine for volume. Weird. Anyone find a solution?

    Hmmm, I'm using that exact same media remote for my living room console! Are you positive that the remote can do that? I can turn up the volume on my TV with the remote but not the volume of my external big speakers. Even with the TV volume i find the
    remote to be very unresponsive, takes multiple clicks to register or just won't work sometimes.
