    Hi

    For 6 months I’ve had issues with gaming lag on my Xbox series x.

    The game is FC24, so it’s an EA server.

    I’ve got a TP-Link Ax1500 on BT Full Fibre 150, UK.

    Download 500mgbs

    Upload 70mgbs

    Ping 10-30

    Packet loss 0

    We have 3 other devices connected to the WiFi 2.4ghz banding, one is a smart tv and streams tv whilst I play.

    Xbox connected via a 20m CAT6 Ethernet. (ONT to router CAT5e)

    PPPoe connection to ONT (no digital voice or phone line).

    After months of gaming lag issues I decided to purchase a third party router to see if it helped which it has, there has been a marked improvement.

    there are still times where I can notice a small amount of lag and given that on the TP-Link there are far more settings you can change, I want to ensure they are right/optimised.

    i was going to try a different DNS setting through the router first but would appreciate some guidance on the following please;

    Dynamic DNS is set to ‘provided by TP link’ the other options are ‘No IP’ or ‘Dynamic’ which would be best suited?

    QOS enabled and the Xbox has priority.

    all other connections are on 2.4ghz.

    Mac clone set to default.

    IP and Mac binding is on, is that right?

    IPV4 PPPoe connection and currently gets IP and DNS dynamically from ISP, is that right?

    IPV6 enabled on PPPoe, DNS is set to dynamic from ISP. Is this right?

    IPV6 LAN is SLAAC stateless is this right?

    NAT set to enabled, is that right?

    Obviously I don’t know what all these mean and trying my best to understand so any help and guidance is greatly appreciated!

    My xbox series s download speed low and I can't play my 2k without getting kicc out the game because on lagging

    Have the issue on my series x under WiFi , all my other devices are fine but when I use the series x under 2.4gh it’s really bad lag and 5gh is better but still laggy, only solution that I found right now is to use Ethernet and completely disconnect WiFi. Hope this helps!

    I think this is due to input lag from the remote play.

    You can try these steps:

    Make sure your Xbox Series X is connected directly to your router or modem via Ethernet cable. This will ensure the best possible connection.

    Check your network settings on your Xbox Series X. Go to Settings > General > Network settings and make sure your NAT type is set to Open. You can also try running the network troubleshooter to see if there are any issues.

    Try adjusting the video quality settings on your Xbox Series X. Go to Settings > Devices & streaming > Remote features > Remote play settings and try lowering the video quality to see if that helps with the input lag.
