Xbox Series X keeps asking “Enter your password”

Every time i start the Xbox it asks me to enter my password to sign in. It is incapable of remembering the details.

Why?

I am using 2FA and Microsoft Authenticator fwiw

What the previous message says is correct. Another option besides factory resetting your console and updating it again would be to remove 2FA first and try again. If you have any other questions, let me know and I will be happy to continue offering my help.

Thank you, I'll try this tonight.

I am kind of shocked that the Xbox team and the MS security team have noit managed to work together to stop this happening. 2Fa is hardly unusual

Have a try, maybe go to Settings > Account > Sign-in Info, and try setting the account to "No barriers". Sign out and try to sign back in. If it asks you to sign in using your password, unfortunately, 2FA is the only problem. You'd have to contact Microsoft Support and tell them about your issue so they can begin a bug report from your end. It could help you. Let me know if it worked.

From all the times I've seen this on the forums, it's almost always related to your password being fine for the Series X|S consoles, but not being liked by the Xbox 360 emulator.

The fix is to change your password. Best results are to keep it around 12 characters, making sure it doesn't contain any special characters such as @/# and no spaces.

Note that once you change your password, you'll need to enter it on the console to log in and then enter it again to download your Xbox 360 profile data.

You don't need an old Xbox 360 profile. When the game asks you to enter the email address and password for your profile, you enter the login details you use for your current Xbox Live account on Series X.

Note that the Xbox Live for the 360 is a little more fussy when it comes to passwords. It must be between 8 and 16 characters, it doesn't like special characters (such as ~#?/_) and it doesn't like spaces in your password. So, if your current password is composed of these characters or spaces, you'll need to change it in order to download a profile to play Xbox 360 games.
