Xbox Series X internet dropping anytime I play a game on Xbox Live

I have a new Xbox Series X (less than a week old) and almost every time I play Halo Infinite multiplayer online, I will lose connection to the server and the internet in my whole house will drop for about a minute, sometimes I even need to reset my modem and router to fix the problem. All other times of the day my internet is 100% normal without issue.

I have Optimum with 1 gig speed and an Orbi RBR850 WiFi Router that's less than a year old and my Xbox is hardwired with Ethernet (I've also tried multiple Ethernet cables).

I don't believe that optimum bridged the modem/router combo they gave me properly when I've repeatedly called them. I was having double NAT errors, so I placed my Orbi router in AP mode and there is no more double NAT and my NAT is showing as open. I've also tried plugging the ethernet from my xbox directly into the 2nd ethernet port on the modem. No matter what, the issue seems to persist.

Optimum says nothing is wrong on their end when I call.

I'm at a loss of what I can do to resolve this. Please help

To be honest is very strange that a single game causes this issues with your whole internet connection.

But we can try troubleshooting your Xbox console.

First, is this happening only when you are playing Halo infinite?

Are you able to test this with another game?

Or, are you able to share mobile data via wifi hotspot to see if the issue persists even with a completely different wifi network?

And, which troubleshooting steps on the console you have done so far to fix this?

Or besides fixing the double NAT type, what else did you do?

Did you manage to fix the connectivity issue? My Series X constantly drops connection to xbox live/internet despite an ethernet cable being used.

I have the same problem, I can't connect to Xbox Live on the Xbox 360 games (on my xbox serie x) since few days 🤔 I precise I don't have any problem on the Xbox serie X games, I have that only on the Xbox 360 games.

My internet is perfect too (I live in Belgium)

Online gaming on a console and a PC can have two types of latency:

Lag is when we are referring to internet connection/server latency. Owning the latest Xbox Series X|S won't fix this, if that's where the problem is.

Framerate and framerate drops are console hardware game specific. If the game is designed to run at 60fps, but there is a lot of things going on on screen this will result in dropped frames and can be seen during play as a stutter/judder, screen tearing and reduced controller responsiveness.

The Series X (and even the Series S) have much more capable hardware and generally won't drop frames in heavy area's like the now quite old Xbox One S does.

My question to you is, are the Xbox One and the Xbox One series X different consoles but are both under the the family tree "Xbox"?

They are in the same family because Series X and S can also play Xbox One games with backwards compatability.

It cost millions to develop the Series X, it's only been out for about four months and Microsoft sells the hardware at loss. It was built for a ten + year life cycle. It's not going away anytime soon.
