Xbox Series X initial update problem

Hello, I’m hoping someone can help as I am extremely frustrated.

I have just taken my Series X out of the box and set it up for the first time but when it comes to the “checking for updates screen” I keep receiving the message “there was a problem with the update” checked my connection which was confirmed to be “all good” but yet the problem still persists, any solutions would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

To end this, I think I got lucky, I switched from my own WiFi last night to my phone hotspot and it worked instantly and performed the update no problem, switched back to my own WiFi straight after it was done and all was good.

the problem is that the live service is having problems and will not allow you to download the profile or any other file from the servers, keep watching until the service returns to normal, see this link:

There is an outage right now confirmed by Microsoft. Xbox.com/status will give you the details. Nothing wrong on your end

Ideally xbox series x games will run on xbox one and the series x indefinitely. I remember seeing that the game's would work on both consoles initially.
