Xbox series x in gamertag

Same. My friend has both and Xbox gamertag (on Series X) and a PC. Owns both versions. I'm on Series X and we can't play unless he's on Xbox. Can't add his Origin ID to my EA friends. Not sure what to do.

Hello, this isn't a new profile. I've used this same one since the 360 and still use it on Series X, only changing the gamertag twice over the years. They added me about 3 months ago through the modern Xbox One/Xbox Series X|S friending system

RESOLVED: I signed out of all devices associated with my Xbox gamertag and resigned in. I'm thinking this was an issue after switching from Xbox One to the Series X.

Yes. It would to answer your question. When you change your xbox gamertag it's not consle based It's based on all the consoles you play on. Say you get a new Xbox Series X, your gamertag will automatically transfer the same as it was on your Xbox 360.

Everywhere (including all games even series x games show the new gamertag but in parties/chat, on the homescreen, in the xbox app, and in the system menus show the old one.
