Xbox series X friends list disappeared

My friends on friends list disappeared one by one. We were playing in the party, all of a sudden the game crashed and the friend disappeared on my friends list. Can't contact through chat and when trying to add back, says can't process please try again in a while. This happened 4 times to 4 different people. What happened?

Thank you for the update. Kindly perform an extended powercycle and reset your network hardware by following the steps below:

1. Unplug the power cable from the back of the router, modem, or gateway for 5 minutes. If you have a router and a modem, unplug the power cable from both devices.

2. Press and hold the Xbox button on your console for 10 seconds or until it turns off then wait for 2 minutes before turning it on again.

3. After 5 minutes, plug the modem or gateway in first, and wait for all the lights to return to their normal state.

4. If you are using a router, plug in the router and wait for all the lights to return to their normal state.

Hi, I hope you're doing great out there despite the issue that you're experiencing. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you in regard to your concern.

We may need to just perform troubleshooting steps because your friend list may still be there but just needs to be refreshed.

To fix this, please perform a power cycle on your console by following the steps below:

POWERCYCLE CONSOLE

1. Turn off your console by holding the Xbox button on the front of the console for approximately 10 seconds. The console will turn off.

2. Turn your console back on by pressing the Xbox button on the console or the Xbox button on your controller.

If that didn't work resetting the console keeping games and apps will be the next option. Don't worry because as long as you're connected to Xbox Live your saved progress, games, will not be deleted. It will remove all of your accounts but you can add all of them later on.

Press the Xbox button to open the guide.

Select Profile & system > Settings > System > Console info.

Select Reset console.

Reset and keep my games & apps.

I'm assuming you have the Xbox Series X and your friend has Series S, correct?

Yes, your current headset, controllers and so on, should also work on Series X.

Yes, you will still be able to communicate and play with your friends on Xbox One.

Yes and No. Some titles might need to be moved to the internal SSD to play, especially the titles that support Smart Delivery upgrades for the Series X.
