Xbox Series X Frame Rate Issue

After much research, it seems like xbox series x doesnt support any frame timings other than the VESA standard. This is extremely disappointing because i cant afford a new monitor. I bought the series x solely to be able to play at 120 Fps. Is there a software update coming soon where the series x can support non-standard display timings? The in game stuttering makes me feel like i wasted my money. Thanks.

If you are playing Xbox One games on the Series X, you are not going to see much of a difference except for frame rate. When you get Xbox Series X games, then you will see a lot more difference.

You should talk to your monitor manufacturer first for using non standard timings. It’s their issue that needs addressing.

That does help! So a contributing factor could also be the port on my monitor itself? Cuz I’m using the ultra high speed cable that came with the series x.

I have to set it back down to 60hz 1080p for warzone to not stutter. Thank you for your responses btw!

As of the moment of this writing, WarZone does not yet have Xbox Series X/S "Optimized" logo on my personal Xbox Series X although I see in the news it is.... You may need an edition or update for avoiding running in Xbox One emulation mode for the moment, and it not being written as "native' game for Series X/S, may relate to its stuttering at 120hz. This may be a question for the game developer more than for Xbox.

However, I wanted to reiterate that having to force-enable the 120hz at 1080p (or any other supported resolution/refresh for that matter), is a symptom of a cable without enough bandwidth needing a newer cable to fix, so you may be experiencing more than one issue at the same time.
