    Xbox Series X - Fatal Crash on Imported Blu-Ray


    I imported a region free blu ray, “Come Fly With Me” complete series disc from the UK to the US (verified it is indeed region free but states that it is 1080/50 instead of our standard of 1080/60), but when I try and play it the Xbox starts playing briefly before crashing and TURNING OFF THE CONSOLE COMPLETELY. As a software engineer, it boggles my mind there can be such a fatal bug that it causes a kernel panic or something so catastrophic that the system needs to reboot. Upon some digging, this is a known issue that has been around for some time but no progress has been made from what I could find (or see on my own console for that matter).

    I am currently in the Beta ring, but it seems this bug effects all versions from Alpha to Public Release. Clearly this needs to be fixed, or at least handled more gracefully than a hard reboot.
