    Xbox Series X Fan stopped working


    Had the Xbox series X since launch and I assume my warranty is done, I did not buy the extended warranty. The top fan on the Xbox series X, will spin when I turn it back on for a bit then it makes a grinding noise, and some times will continue to work and more often then not it will just black screen me. The Xbox Series X Is on its side, and I have clear and proper ventilation for the fan and console to breathe easy. I would like to assume that it could just be dust but is there any other factors that could be making the fan make a grinding noise, and when it does stop it looks like it wants to keep spinning, but cant. It jitters for a moment or two then the console shuts off. Just wondering if there is anything I can do, or should I contact Microsoft and try and see about warranty that I believe is expired, or should I see a third party to attempt to clean it/ swap fans?

    Xbox Series X Fan stopped working

    Any sort of grinding noise is not a good sign. Arrange a repair or replacement.

    I had to replace a Series X that had a grinding disc drive just 6 months after I purchased it.

    Hi there!

    Sorry to hear about what happened. It seems to be a mechanical issue. Probably there are dusts stuck on your fan that needs cleaning. You could try to use a vacuum blower to blow off the dusts slowly.

    The BC team stopped working on 360 titles to bring all existing One games to series x. It is unknown if they will continue to work on 360 titles once series x releases.

    And, if it were not backwards compatible, you might have to wait until the release of Xbox Series X, as they have said they have stopped working on bringing Backwards Compatible titles to Xbox One until the Series X launch to get Backwards Compatibility
    up and running on the Series X. Form there, I imagine they will move back to bringing titles to both Series X and Xbox One for a few more years.
