Xbox Series X fan speed not increasing and console shuts down

Hi, my Xbox series x keeps shutting down on its own when I play any remotely high graphic games (fornite and Hitman 3 mainly), also I have never seen or heard the fan spin up, compared to my friend's console which does when it gets hot or under strain.

I play a lot of Forza Horizon 5 and have never heard the fan and that game pushes the console quite hard.

To be honest, if it is happening on a game like Fortnite which isn't the most graphically demanding game, then I'd be a little concerned. If you happen to have Game Pass, then I'd try downloading a game like The Medium as that pushes the system and will highlight any issues.

Xbox Series X - even with the console fully shut down, if I place my ear at the top I can hear a buzz like there’s a current. No fan spinning etc.

Does the console have enough space to cool down ?

The increase of speed in the fan can be caused by overheating.
