Phil Spencer does it again he scraps the name of Scarlett and gives it the name Xbox Series X. EVERYTHING leaked was correct except the name and the pictures but the power is definitely there Microsoft has finally revealed itself. im sure you all know the
information is official by now.I guess all those leaks made them to come out. So what happens to all those xbox express offers to get the device as an upgrade. This thing is definitely gonna cost. Where do you hear those "side talks"?

Microsoft announced that the upcoming "Xbox Series X" (formerly "Project Scarlett") will feature backwards compatibility with all previous Xbox generations. So it wouldn't make sense putting money and work into making Xbox 360 games run on their new console,
and shutting down the servers.

However, publishers that run their own servers (especially Electronic Arts) are known for shutting down servers for their older games, and this is beyond Microsoft's control.

But rest assured: Xbox 360 games will continue to work and Microsoft will not shut down Xbox 360 servers themselves for quite some time.

Scarlett will be backwards compatible with Xbox One games and with Xbox 360 and Original Xbox games that Microsoft already has as an option for and for future titles. As some say, the Xbox One X is a powerful console. Whether it is the Xbox One X or Xbox
One S, I am positive Microsoft will still be supporting these consoles for years to come.

Looks to me like there are quite a few conflicting replies in here, so what I'd like to try and do with this comment is clear up some of the confusion.

Phil Spencer unveiled Microsoft's next-gen console, previously known as Project Scarlett, at The Game Awards. This new console, which is out holiday 2020, is just called "Xbox" (The Series X is the model number).

This is a new console; not just a more powerful Xbox One, like the One X.

One of the big differences with this console though is that the current Xbox One controllers and accessories will work with the Series X. Just like the Series X controller will work with the Xbox One consoles.

Also, the Xbox Series X does support backwards compatibility; however, it's just the ones that have already been added to following list (unless they eventually add more) plus all the Xbox One games.
