Xbox Series X Error 0xc00d11cd (0x8007045d) When Watching Media Via USB.

When tryin to watch movies stored on an external harddrive, I quite often recieve this message. It happens randomly and not all the time. When it does happen it can be 10min after the media has started, or an hour.

It has happened with two USB devices thus far, but seems to happen more often with a WD 500GB external HD, at maybe 50% of the time. On a 8GB USB stick it happens maybe 10% of the time.

I watch via the standard external media app from MS.

Any ideas on how I might be able to fix this would be much appreciated.?

There, gingergoose247, the OP, found a solution that helped him with this issue. Here is what he said:

" Yes I did. The drive im im us is western digital so i looked on their forums. It boils down to using a tool provided by WD to reformat the drive to an older file structure. I used the tool and it worked a treat. I now have over 8tbs on media accessible on my xbox one s.

The tool only works with WD drives. "

When you format your drive you have to select to format to "xp compatible". Process takes about 5 minutes but as its formatting your drive you will lose all data on the drive so its its best to move everything off it you want to keep. "

No, I play the videos on an XBox Series X with the media player. The external SDD is connected via USB to the front USB port. There is no PC involved.

The 3.5mm headphone jack on Xbox One/Series X|S controllers (including Elite controllers) does not work when connected via Bluetooth. It will only work via USB or the official Xbox wireless adaptor.
