Xbox series x elite controller

I have always taken great care of controllers, my 360 controllers are still working perfectly, same for the xbox one controllers. When we got the xbox series x In 2020, the elite controller worked fine, i took great care, never dropped, never ate or drunk near it. But a few months later, some buttons have started to no longer register. As i said, i take great care of controllers and all of my previous ones work fine still. We replaced the controller for a new one. And now, 9 months later, some buttons have started to no longer register again.

I have already tried the controller reset. And i know they are getting more complex so more can go wrong, but for a controller of nearly £150, you would expect it to last longer than this without issues. What can be done about this apart from simply replacing?
