Xbox series x doesn’t allow me to play fortnite, help!

I purchased an Xbox Series X in Aug 2021 and since purchase I have been unable to play games without being kicked back to Home Screen. It’s worse on fortnite I’m kicked out every 5-8 minutes. I’ve reset the console, followed all tips for cache clearing etc and still no joy. I have even got the console connected to internet with Ethernet wire and this makes absolutely NO difference. What can I do, I really don’t want to sell the console but I’m at my wits end now.

Go to Settings > Power & startup > Under Power Options > highlight the Power mode, then press the "A" button on the controller to toggle between instant-on and energy-saving mode.

Change DNS:

- Go to Settings

- Network

- Advanced settings

- DNS settings

- Manual.

(If Settings doesn't appear on the home screen, select My Games & Apps, then Settings.)

Then enter the Primary DNS as "208.67.222.222" and the Secondary DNS as "208.67.220.220"

I'll suggest you reach out to your network provider and ask them to open these ports for you

Usually, there is a list of ports that is used by Xbox Live, which is this:

Port 88 (UDP)

Port 3074 (UDP and TCP)

Port 53 (UDP and TCP)

Port 80 (TCP)

Port 500 (UDP)

Port 3544 (UDP)

Port 4500 (UDP)

Thanks for this but it doesn’t appear to have worked.

I’ve followed the above steps but when logging in to fortnite I am still being kicked out of the app (this was within 60 seconds after doing the above)

It doesn’t allow me to downgrade on my controller, it’s a series X one which came with the console but it lets me downgrade some of my old ones from Xbox 1.

I recently changed from an Xbox one to an Xbox series x I had the games before they were “optimized” and I was able to play them directly from the external hard drive until they updated. Also it doesn’t make sense for online games such as Fortnite to only be able to be played if they are download directly to the internal drive or am I missing something?
