Xbox Series X does not auto reconnect to WiFi when in Standby mode

Would be difficult to have a change on that as even on Pc happens the same, but in the insider hub app you have a section to share Ideas and improvements

I cannot use ethernet, because console is too far away from router.

This is normal, there is no way to change it unless you connect the console through ethernet(Wired), since while the console is not active it does not perform processes such as attempts to reconnect to Wi-Fi

Same sort of thing for me. Forza 5 update today, turned on Xbox and was expecting Forza to be updated considering the update was out 6+ hours before and I had to wait for Forza to download the update after I had switched on the Xbox. Ive got the Xbox set
to "Instant On" and the "Auto download" set to on. Main system update from the other week was fine as that downloaded overnight and when I switched on the Xbox it was installing it straight away.

My question as well is if the Xbox is in standby mode should it still be connected to the router via wifi? My router shows a list of connected devices. Xbox in standby mode isnt shown on the list and so isnt connected via wifi, yet my PS4 in standby is shown
connected via wifi to the router. So should the Xbox be connected on wifi all the time when its in standby or just when its physically on? If its not connected via wifi when its in standby how does it get updates?
