    Xbox series X disconnecting from multiplayer


    Hi, I’m having an issue with my Xbox series x. I’ve had it for less than a month. It worked fine the first 2 weeks then suddenly started disconnecting from multiplayer matches. I’m still connected to the internet - I can see when friends are online and I can download games - however, whenever I try to play a multiplayer game, it disconnects me. I’ve tried trouble shooting and my connection is fine, I have good upload/download speed and low latency. I’ve also tried doing a hard restart, switching the MAC address, etc etc. nothing seems to work. I also have 2 roommates that both have Xbox ones and they have no issues with the WiFi. When I test the nat type it randomly switches between open, moderate, and strict. I know this is a WiFi issue but I don’t know why my roommates aren’t affected or why it isn’t resolved by using an Ethernet cable. I’ve heard people suggest switching the dns settings or changing/opening ports with my isp and removing firewalls but I’m not very tech savvy and worried about what sort of affect that will have and if it will make me more vulnerable. I’ve tried contacting my isp but the agents I’ve spoken to have been incompetent and as puzzled as I’ve been. I truly don’t know what to do at this point so any help would be greatly appreciated.

    You just need to configure your network.

    set a fixed ip for the console/PC, open the ports described below, disable and enable the UPnP function and disable the modem firewall, if you have a modem and a router the process has to be done on both devices.

    Put console/PC IP in DMZ zone.

    Port 88 (UDP)

    Port 3074 (UDP and TCP)

    Port 53 (UDP and TCP)

    Port 80 (TCP)

    Port 500 (UDP)

    Port 3544 (UDP)

    Port 4500 (UDP)

    You can ask ISP(Internet Service Provider) for help

    • Changing my NAT Type from Moderate to Open

    • Disconnecting and reconnecting my Battlenet ID from my Xbox account

    • Port forwarding ports from Overwatch 2 directly to my router

    • Restarting my Xbox Series X

    • Deleting and reinstalling Overwatch 2

    • Restarting my router

    None of these things have worked whatsoever
