Xbox Series X Crash. (Gears 5)

Hi

I was just wondering if anyone has any advice on this because i cant seem to find much for the specific type of crash im experiencing or with the same game.

I am able to load up Gears 5 for a maximum of 15 minutes and maybe play one round or sometimes even half a round of a multiplayer match then the whole console shuts down leaving my controller flashing as if its trying to connect again then i have to press the power button on the console it self for it come back on/reconnect to my controller.

I managed to get a Series X about 3-4 weeks ago (maybe if there was like a bad batch?) and before this I was using a Xbox One X all of my games on the Xbox one X were mostly installed to a External Hard drive, One i had purchased myself so not a official Xbox one External Hard Drive(not sure if that would make difference) to save time i just transferred my games from the Xbox one X to the Series X via the External Hard Drive every game that was X/S optimized required a update once it had been transferred from the Xbox one X to the Series X which i obviously done. Baring in mind all the games were still saved to the External Hard Drive. Then went to load up Gears 5 and everytime i would load it up i would manage to get into a game for maximum 15 minutes before the whole console would just shutdown completley and leave the controller flashing. I thought it would be because they had been saved to External Hard Drive and would need to be installed to the interal to run better so i unistalled all X/S optimized games and reinstall them to the interal and everything but Gears runs fine.

I tried reading up online about what it could be and have tried just about everything.

-Flipping the power cable

-Making sure it is plugged in at the wall

-Removing the X/S optimized games from the External Hard Drive and installing them on Internal Storage (i have totally removed the External Hard Drive now)

-Hard Reset the console multiple times

-Removed myself from some beta dashboard thing(read online some guy had done it and it helped him)

-Making sure the console is in a well ventilated area (tried the console both horizontally and vertically)

I am now at the stage where tonight i have done a factory reset of the whole console and im currently waiting on whether or not install Gears 5 again or wait until the next game update (which is tuesday) then installing to see if this will make a difference.

Gears is the only game ive had this problem with ive played AC Valhalla for 100+ hours and its maybe crashed twice and i mean like back to the dashboard crash but then let me reboot it, not to the point of basically a complete console shut down like with Gears. Ive also played other games and still no crashes.

Any Help would be appreciated.

The only crashes I've been getting are on gears 5 both one x and series x consoles. I currently did a saved data wipe to see if that will fix it. So far no problems

Microsoft introduces "Smart Delivery" with the Xbox Series X, which means, that if you own an existing game (like Minecraft in your example, or Gears 5) or a new game comes out for Xbox One and Xbox Series X with improved graphics on Series X, you won't
have to buy the game twice.

With Smart Delivery you will play the "enhanced" version on Series X, and the "normal" version on Xbox One.

I might be a bit biased with my LOVE of the Gears of War series, but I definitely vote the Gears 5 Limited Edition console. The console is absolutely stunning gorgeous and the limited edition controller it comes with matches perfectly. Additionally, you
get essentially 5 games as well as a cool skin to use with Kait in Gears 5!

Yes, why wouldn't it be? Faster processor, graphics and more RAM (16 GB). I did already state in my previous reply that Series X will play X1X enhanced titles.

Digital Foundry (a popular YouTube tech channel) have shown a video of Gears 5 running on Series X.

Not only was Series X running the X1X Gears game, the developer has enhanced it again for Series X.

Hello everyone, I did a lot of search and this is my opinion according to latest comments.

In Gearsofwar forum, some people say they changed their xbox and got new from Microsoft and the problem is still happening. Even a person changed his xbox 3 times and Gears 5 is still shutsdown the xbox series x. Now they are saying; Probably its a rare software problem like NBA2K22 had. It was the same issue but Gears 5 didnt get a patch for shutdowns but NBA2K22 get a patch for shuts down.

If its a hardware problem like overheating xbox should shutdown in other games and FarCry 6 too but xbox is shuts down only in Gears 5 and Gears: Tactics and Gears: tactics is not even heating the console, its just a turn based strategy game. (BUT: Those who has shuts down in other games must send their console to Microsoft for replacement)

And they are saying if its hardware why xbox is not shutting down in other games and even like FarCry 6 with good graphics but xbox shuts down even only Gears: Tactics its the game from same developer who made Gears5.

Right now no one can agree if its hardware or software. but these situations points to its probably a rare and complicated glitch in the System OS and the Game. But right now they think its a software problem with a strange glitch.

So, I will not rush and not gonna send my xbox because its only crashing Gears games. Games that has much more graphics than Gears 5 is fine, if xbox starts to crush on the other games then thats mean there is problem on hardware. And i am playing games like more than 5-6 hours xbox is just fine.

So, Officially no one can give me a Guarantee its a hardware problem. What will happen if i send my clean xbox and get refurbished xbox and then Gears shut down again like the other people in gearsofwar forum?. I'll be left with refurbished xbox.

Some people's xbox shuts down 20-30min, Some peopl'e never. In my case i had only in Chapter 4 before that chapters i played the gears 5 very long hours. If it was hardware xbox should shut down in other chapters too. And someone said exact same thing like me, He had crash after desert mission, he mean Chapter 4.
