Xbox series X controller won't stay synced

Hi,

I have had xbox one and 360 for years and never had this issue even though I had 3-4 controllers with each console.

However this has been an issue with the series X.

When I first bought it I had no issue with the sync between the console and the controller.

However nowadays it seems every 3-4 days I would have to resync the controller to the console again.

It is getting extremely annoying.

I have no problem resyncing it but it is very frustrating that after a few days you press the controller to power on the console it starts flashing again and you know you have to then resync/pair the controller to the console again.

Anybody got any solutions?

I have even had it not sync and i need to hard restart the console.

i have turnded off instant on in the power settings and that has helped me.

but they have to sort this out as it defeats the purpose if you cant use the console to its full potential

Sync the Controller:
To sync a wireless controller with your Xbox, follow these steps:

Press the Xbox button on the controller to turn it on.
Press and hold the small sync button on the front of the Xbox Series X console (located near the USB port).
While holding the sync button on the console, press and hold the sync button on the controller (located on the top near the Xbox button).
Release both sync buttons when the controller's Xbox button starts flashing. The controller should now be synced with the console.

Thanks for the reply. Interesting, I did not know that it was "wirelessly" connected while connected to a USB C Data Cord. As soon as I unplug, it stays disconnected (in sync mode the controller also keeps blinking then turns off). If this is right I don't know why I also can't sync any of my other Xbox controllers to the series X unless connected with a cord (works on an One X controller also, stops when unplugged). I don't know why the sync button (blinking) stopped operating all together.

I replaced my batteries and tried to pull and place back in earlier with no luck. I also updated the controller as I set up as new.

The interesting thing is I am able to use the series X controller perfectly on PC wirelessly with windows 10/Xbox PC adapter. I have no problems on PC wireless.

I have already tried that. When I try to sync it, nothing happens. Is there a certain way to sync it. I had my Xbox on and held both sync buttons. Does my controller have to be on? My controller won't stay on unless I hold the home button.

Try this procedure, hope it helps: Plug the power cord back into your Xbox Series X|S; Turn on the control; Press and hold the sync button on your Xbox Series X|S; Press the sync button on the controller until the time it starts flashing rapidly, then release it.
