    Xbox Series X controller won't connect properly to console


    Randomly one day It stopped working even when connected to the console with a USB chord and whenever I try to turn it on, the light just keeps blinking slowly and doesn't want to turn on. I replaced the batteries and it still doesn't work, I've tried countless tutorials, it still doesn't work. When I put it up close to the console and then try to sync it, it works then eventually starts acting weird like drifting which it has never done before and then turning off with a slow blinking light. It turns back on just for it to do the same seconds later. When I plug it into the chord again it still doesn't work. Even when it is synced to the console it only works at least in a foot away from the console. I don't know how to solve the problem and every tutorial I've tried doesn't work or only works temporarily. I've left this controller alone for a while and have been playing on my other controller but that one has drift and would like to go back to my old one but its still acting like this. What should I do? It is a normal Series X controller.

    I can't find one designed for series x controller. They are all for xbox one controller and don't fit series x controller properly.

    I upgraded from the ultimate pass on Xbox one X to the series X but it won't let me claim it on the series X.

    What doesn't my stupid controller work or play when it plugged in the wall but as soon as you plug it In to the xbox it works!!!!!¿¿¿ makes no sense bc the xbox gets it power from the wall

    Hi,

    If you're attempting to do what I think you you are, it won't work. As soon as you connect a cabled Xbox One or Series X|S controller to a different USB connector it will try to data sync/connect to that device and will disconnect from the previous device. This is why it is recommended that you charge the controller during play directly with the console.

    Please try to perform a power reset on the console. Maybe just unpluging and pluging right away have not worked:

    1​​. Turn off your console and your router/modem.

    2. Unplug all the cables from both devices (power, HDMI, etc..) and wait 2 minutes.

    3. After 2 minutes, plug all the cables in again on your router/modem and wait for all the lights to show up.

    ​​​4. Plug all the cables on your console and turn it on.

    Hello,

    There isn't a specific adaptor for the Series X/S controllers for PC. The current adaptor works just fine with these newer controllers, however it is now in very short supply. There are third party ones available that do the same thing.

    The Xbox 360 wireless controllers use a different WIFI protocol, they need their own Xbox 360 wireless Gaming Receiver.

    Xbox One and Series X/S controllers can be connected to PC via Bluetooth, but headsets will only work with the Xbox One adaptor (or a third party version), they won't work when the controller is connected via BT
