Xbox Series X controller stick drift and missing inputs?

I've had the Xbox Series X and its controller for around 2 years now. (Probably past the warranty sadly.) I also have many other controllers with analog sticks on them. I've had a Nintendo Switch Pro Controller since 2019. After 3 months of use, the right stick got drift. After another 4 months of use, the left stick is starting to drift and at the horizontal axis's are both dropping inputs and doing a weird drift to a diagonal. The Nintendo Switch Pro Controller I have only has light stick drift that doesn't affect gameplay. I tried every easy tutorial out there and concluded that it's a hardware problem. And yes, I did try updating it. TWICE actually. There's a bunch of 3D games I look forward to playing and most of them don't support Nintendo controllers. (Sorry for the constant Nintendo references, it's the only competitor console I actively associate with.) If there's some way I could get this problem fixed for cheap I would be grateful, I really want to believe that Microsoft is trying their best and this is making me doubt that.

Unboxed my Series X in October. Stick drift within a month. My Xbox 360 Elite controller still works flawlessly after nearly 15 years.

The new controllers are garbage.

Hi there!

That's odd that your left stick seems to only drift in the Hitman games . Does the right stick drift as well? I'm assuming that controls the camera and aim.

I recommend opening up the Xbox Accessories app and then go into the Configuration page for your Elite controller. From here scroll over to Left Stick to get into the sensitivity graph. This page will give you a visual representation of the input your controller
is receiving. You can notice from here if your left stick is drifting in general and not just in those games. It's possible that the in game sensitivity settings make it more noticeable then any other games if the stick is in fact drifting after the stick
goes back to it's original position after being pressed.

To compensate you can make a controller configuration profile for the Hitman games and set the left stick to Smooth or Delayed to have some more resistance on how far the controller inputs go. Play around with the slider and choose a setting that best resists
the controller drift. You can set it to Slot 1 or 2 and switch to this profile whenever you play Hitman.

I have bought five new controllers for my Xbox series X game console. ON the Sniper Ghost Contract games 1 and 2 my controller shoots automatically with the left stick. Once you try to hold your breath and lock to shoot an opponent the controller sticks. This is a new problem for me other then the drifting of an old controller. Has anyone else complained about this issues.

I'm sorry to here that sadly I had my elite series 2 controller do the same thing, it started with the x button and then the bumpers, I noticed stick drift of both the sticks, sadly when I went to the store to exchange it for another one they had no
elite series 2 controllers in stock, I switched to the Razer wolverine ultimate edition and so far its a great controller

Sounds like you need a new controller? Does your stick have drift? Could be affecting your games as well with phantom inputs.
