XBox Series X Controller Less than 1 year old has significant Drift - What can I do?

I invested about $65.00 for a shock blue XBox Series X controller to use with my PC in January 2021. I purchased it from the XBox store along with a Controller Gear Universal Pro Charging Stand. In mid-November, less than 10 months of having the controller, the right thumbstick continually has drastic drift that points any in-game activity straight to the sky. I've tried everything (other than taking the joystick apart) that I can think of to fix the drift to no avail. I'm not a heavy gamer (maybe 8-10 hours a month), and I haven't even played for the past couple of months. I checked my warranty, and the device only has a 3 year warranty (ugh). There doesn't seem to be any help systems set up to address this, but I see all kinds of posts on the internet in which this seems to be a pretty common issue (this happened to both of my xbox one controllers after about 5 years, but I purchased Microsoft's new Joystick because I was pretty sure these issues would have been addressed in their new flagship controllers, and Microsoft has been a pretty solid company for me in the past). Are there any options for me at this point other than purchasing a new controller? Does Microsoft offer any kind of discounts on a new device if their old device has failed in such a short duration of time? any ideas? Thank you for your help with this.

The first thing I did was update my controller and it's still drifting on the y axis. The Xbox controller that I use for my pc that I got 7 years ago works. My 360 controllers works. The series x controller, 1.5 years old, drifts like crazy. Just outta warranty, funny how that works. 😜

what do you mean by “less than 24 hours of activation” and my Xbox controller is a normal Xbox Series X controller.

It'**** or miss really. I take really good care of my controllers and I've had more than one get stick drift. 1 in particular was less than 6 months old.

I agree.

My newer model with the 3.5 jack has been solid. My older (less than a year) controller has been retired due to drifting.
