Xbox Series X Controller Intermittently Disconnecting from PC via Bluetooth

On 6/27/21, I ordered an Xbox Design Lab custom Xbox Series X controller to use instead of my old Xbox One controller on my PC. The Xbox One controller has no intermittent connectivity issues when connected via bluetooth to my PC at all. I've downloaded the Xbox Companion App and hardwired the controller to my PC and updated it, but I'm still experiencing disconnect issues. Other bluetooth devices connected do not have these issues, neither does the previous controller. I've also made sure to have only the new controller connected via bluetooth to help reduce any potential interference, but I still have the same issues. At this point, I'm not sure what else to do? Any tips would be greatly appreciated because I much prefer the textured grip of the new controller.

    :)

Xbox Series X Controller Intermittently Disconnecting from PC via Bluetooth

Hello dear Gamer, first it's a pleasure to be able to help you today.

    My name is Vinicius.

I am a gamer and independent advisor on the XBOX community platform.

Hey Berthkgar, how are you today, mate? Hope you're well.

So, that interference of the controller with your PC causing it to disconnect frequently is not normal, I also have a Series S and a Series X controller that I also use on my PC and neither exhibit this behavior. You try to update it and even so, the same happens, I advise you, since the problem lies only with it, and in any other device works perfectly, open a warranty request.

Xbox Series X Controller Intermittently Disconnecting from PC via Bluetooth

    Hello @Berthkgar!

Since the other Xbox one controller have no intermittently disconnecting issues, I would suggest connection your Xbox Design Lab custom Xbox Series X controller to anther device just to make sure that there's no issue with the controller itself. Also, would you please give the following solutions a try and let us know the results!

Solution 1: Run the Bluetooth trouble-shooter on Windows 10:

    1. Go to Start and in the Find a setting search bar, type “Bluetooth.”
    2. Select Find and fix problems with Bluetooth devices.
    3. Select Next and run the trouble-shooter.
    Solution 2: Restart your PC:

Select the Windows logo key > Power > Restart.

    Solution 3: Restart your controller

    1. Power off the controller by pressing and holding the Xbox button for 6 seconds.
    2. Press the Xbox button again to power it back on.
    Solution 4: Re-pair the device:

    1. Go to Settings > Devices > Bluetooth.
    2. Select the controller and then select Remove device.
    3. Press the Pair button on your controller.
    4. Select the controller and then select Pair.
I hope this helps you out!

Adapter Xbox 360 for PC and new controller.

    Hi,

    I’m Killing Skids

The Answer Is Yes as Long As it has Bluetooth or wireless connection
    Hi,

That's not quite right. Apologies for quoting you.

The Xbox 360 controller uses a proprietary wireless technology, it's not Bluetooth and the old adaptors won't work with a modern controller like the Xbox One or Series X|S controllers.

Unlike Xbox 360 wireless controllers, Xbox One and Series controllers can also be connected via USB cable. Old Xbox One controllers use Micro USB, Series Controllers are USB C.

To use an Xbox One/ Series controller via wireless on a PC and get basic functionality, all you need to do is connect the controller via Bluetooth. If your PC doesn't have Bluetooth then you'll need to buy a Bluetooth USB dongle, they're very cheap, less than $10. I'm from the UK and I connect my Series X controller to my PC via BT dongle I purchased from Amazon for about £5.

For extra wireless features you'll need the Xbox One Wireless Adaptor for Windows 10. Unfortunately, the official Microsoft branded adaptors are now quite rare.

Why can't I pair up Bluetooth wireless earbuds with my console?

it uses wifi that the xbox has a receiver and sender for, similar to the microsoft pc wireless adapter but obviously built into the console.

no bluetooth at all. there is not a single bluetooth chip in the console, the modern xbox controller connect via wifi to the console or bluetooth to phones and pc if not using the adapter for pc. only the controller has bluetooth and this is basic at best.

Does the Xbox Series X or Series S support Bluetooth? | Windows Central

No Bluetooth for Xbox Series X

The Xbox Series X doesn't have Bluetooth, similarly to the Xbox One, Xbox One S, and Xbox One X. The reason is simple; the Bluetooth signal isn't strong enough to meet Microsoft's specifications for latency. Microsoft uses its proprietary signal, dubbed Xbox Wireless, for connecting controllers and other accessories, like the Turtle Beach Stealth 600 and the SteelSeries 9X wireless headsets.

Microsoft's signal is far stronger than Bluetooth. Since many people typically game while sitting far away from their consoles in the living room or so on, Bluetooth's susceptibility to interference increases exponentially at longer ranges. If you were hoping you could use a USB Bluetooth adapter, it wouldn't work either, as the Xbox Series X and other Xbox One consoles don't have the drivers necessary to power them.

XBox Elite Series 2 unplugged from PC using USB won't auto connect to Bluetooth

I have a few Elite Series 2 controllers and they all fail to reconnect to my PC via Bluetooth after disconnecting from the USB cable. Are you saying that having to remove the device and add it in again via Bluetooth is normal/the way the controller was
designed?! Where might I find info on this? I would like to get it figured out. Thanks.
