Xbox Series X Controller Critical Battery on Xbox game bar - Windows 10

I am currently using an Xbox Series X Controller on a Windows 10 PC. The battery is always indicating critical level on the Xbox bar even with fresh batteries. In devices you can see the battery level accurately shows a 94%.

It's been an issue since the new controller was released and, to date, has not been resolved. There is a thread about it here:

That's a Series X/S controller right? I think I have the same issue. Pretty sure its related to the same problem many people had just getting these controllers to work on Windows 10 via BT.

For moment we're just going to have to leave it and hope they fix it with a Windows update. I don't use my Series X controller much on PC as I've got two other Xbox One controllers.

Same issue for me. Haven't been able to fix it. I'm also experiencing intermittent disconnecting and reconnecting with my controller, and I'm wondering if this battery issue is somehow related.

I was actually having the intermittent disconnect issue as well but doing an Update to the controller seemed to resolve it. I do still have the incorrect level problem though. Are you using rechargeable batteries?

Same problem here...

Xbox x series controller with xbox wireless adapter for windows 10 version 2.

Device manager shows xinput compatible device and also at bluetooth and other devices.

There is no battery indicator shows, only at the game bar.

The game bar unfortunately only shows the words: low - medium and full and no percentage.

It's really ****.
