    Hi everyone,

    I'm experiencing a frustrating issue with my Xbox Series X controller. During gameplay, several buttons are suddenly becoming unresponsive, and it’s really impacting my gaming experience. The controller appears to be connected just fine, but for some reason, certain button inputs don't seem to register at all. I've already tried replacing the batteries and even updated the controller firmware, but the problem persists.

    Has anyone else encountered this issue or found any solutions that might help resolve it? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

    We’re excited to have you here and have great conversations! I'd be happy to be of assistance.

    I'm sorry to hear about this issue. Have you tried connecting your controller using a USB wired connection to see if the problem persists? Additionally, have you tested a different controller to check if the same issue occurs?

    In the meantime, I recommend trying the steps below. These are the same steps I follow whenever I experience random disconnections with my controller.

    Step 1: Power Drain (CONTROLLER)

    1. Remove the batteries on your controller even if it's turned on

    2. Press and hold the Xbox button for 10 seconds. This will 1 the remaining power.

    3. Wait 2 minutes.

    4. Insert the batteries back into the controller

    Step 2: Power Drain (XBOX)

    1. Make sure that your console is turned on then unplug the power cable at the back to turn it off.

    2. Press the power button for about 15 seconds even though it's already off. (This will remove the remaining power on your Xbox)

    3. Wait for 2 minutes and plug the power cable

    4. Turn on console and wait for the dashboard to appear

    5. Turn on controller then test

    I've noticed that the series X takes longer to respond to the controller. try holding the Home Button for maybe 10-15 seconds.

    Update: the problem doesn't occur if i turn on the console using the controller not the console power button. Also, the controller decided to not respond during gameplay, it wouldn't let me control my character, and it eventually turned itself off. It's

    Thank you for posting in Microsoft Xbox Community. I'm sorry to hear that you're having issues with your Xbox controller. You mentioned that it disconnects during gameplay. Does this happen when connected directly via USB or just with wireless?

    I would suggest that you try connecting it via USB cable and see if you would encounter the same issue. In addition, do you have other device such as PC where you could connect your controller to test and compare?
