Xbox Series X constantly crashes

Had my series X since launch and it constantly crashes. Either crashes to dashboard during play or hard shuts down and resets.

The console has been well looked after and always kept in a dust free, well ventilated area.

I've tried using a different HDMI cable, transfering games to internal storage and playing on there, transfering from internal to Seagate expansion card and playing from there, setting the console to 1080p only at 60FPS (my TV is hdmi 2.1 and capable of 4K at 120hz) and still I get constant crashes.

I have done multiple factory resets (keeping games and apps), full system wipes (deleting games and apps), reinstalls, Mac address changes - nothing has helped.

I originally thought this was limited to only one game or two, but I've had it on everything.... Cod MW2, Jedi Survivor, Dead Space, Armored Core 6, Death Loop, Marvel's Midnight Suns, Guardians of the Galaxy.... Literally every game across multiple studios crashes so I truly believe this is a console issue, or (even though unlikely) something very specific to my TV or setup.

Microsoft want to charge me £285(!) for a repair..... seriously, this is more than half the cost of a new console and I have no idea how this can be justified when there seems to be multiple similar reports. Of course I am out of warranty so the retailer will not help me either.

What options do I have? Has anyone found a resolution?

I also experience frequent crashes in destiny 2 since light falls release on my Xbox series x. The only other game that constantly crashes is starfield. No other game crashes, example: dead by daylight, Diablo 4 or cyberpunk. Seems to be a hardware issue that Microsoft refuses to officially acknowledge.

I’ve sent in my xbox series x twice now, waiting for the 3rd one to arrive. You definitely wont get the same xbox back. If the xbox doesn’t work this time I have to switch to the series S or goto playstation. (Game disc wouldn’t read, it would crash constantly.. or home screen me)

"a bit high"? Do you mean "extortionate" considering this seems to be a widely reported fault?

I am very sorry for your problem, but unfortunately the only alternative you have is to send your console to technical assistance to be able to fix it.

I know the repair fee is a bit high, but there's nothing you can do, you've tried everything possible.

I’m having the same problem man, although I don’t believe it’s an Xbox Series X issue. I haven’t bought next gen and am still only on the Xbox One X and my game constantly crashes ONLY while playing Cold War. I have no clue how to fix my own issue but
for Series X users I hear that turning off Ray Tracing is an easy temporary fix. I’ve also heard that this issue has been breaking peoples Series X so you might just want to hold off on playing until they release a patch.
