Xbox Series X - Constant Internet Connection required?

I currently own a Day One edition xbox one. The power supply is starting to fail. I am looking to upgrade to the Xbox Series X when it comes out in November. I live in a rural area so my internet is VERY SLOW!! (Satelite is only internet available in my
area). Right now when i have to do updates or install games from gamepass, I go to my sister-in-laws house (100/15) or my dads house 500/500).

I was wondering if a constant internet is going to be required for the xbox series x? I have read some items online but its all speculation.

    :)

    Can't play offline

most games require internet connection to download / update etc

and if the game is online based to play that will require constant internet connection.

    Gamepass offline not working.

What game are you trying to launch? Some games require a constant internet connection..

Titanfall available for Pre-Load on PC

Or is this even possible on Xbox One since a constant internet connection isn't required anymore?

People would set their consoles date to March 11 and the game would unlock.

    Choosing a hardrrive

Fair enough, a slow internet connection is as good excuse as any.

Be aware however that while that drive will work on Series X, you won't be able to play Series X games directly from it. Series X games will require faster access and read speeds. My understanding is that the Series X games can be 'backed up' on an external
drive and then need to copied/moved over to either the internal SSD or the External SSD's that will be available for the machine.

The Series X will read and play Xbox One games from an external drive though.

    The new consoles for 2020

XCLOUD isn't really a "console" afaik. It's a platform, it doesn't require GPU, CPU, etc. It requires a constant internet connection. I think consoles are on their way out.
