Xbox series X audio crackling/glitching in game

I’ve had my Xbox series X (master chief edition) for about a year and a half. Just today, I noticed issues with the audio. Regardless of headset or tv audio, the issue was there. When playing a game such as destiny 2, when a lot is happening at once, the audio starts to crackle and jitter, like it’s lagging even though my internet connection is perfectly stable. I know it has nothing to do with my headset or controller, and I’ve tried clearing my MAC address as well as resetting my Xbox. I just wanna play games without it being ruined like this.

Hi, and thanks for reaching out. My name is Miguel O., Sorry to hear you're experiencing this issue!

Please proceed to do a power cycle to fix the issue

1. Turn off your console by holding the Xbox button  on the front of the console for approximately 10 seconds. The console will turn off.

2. Turn your console back on by pressing the Xbox button  on the console or the Xbox button  on your controller.

If you don't see the green boot-up animation when the console restarts, repeat these steps. Make sure that you hold the power button until the console completely shuts down.

Important If your console is in Sleep mode, the above steps will shut the console off completely. Sleep mode, or the ability to turn on your console by saying "Xbox on," won't be enabled until you restart the console.

On further inspection, it seems to be only destiny 2 that displays the issue, so it’s not an issue with the console.

- Is this happening on both TV and headphone audio?

- Are you using an HDMI hub/splitter?

- Besides your TV, do you have other external devices plugged into your console?
