  1. Xbox Series X + ARC Raiders update 1.45.0: Two months later, the game is still unplayable....

On September 8, ARC Raiders received update 1.45.0. Here are the official patch notes:

    https://arcraiders.com/news/live-update-1-45-0

Since that update, ARC Raiders has been effectively unplayable on my Xbox Series X. And from what I’ve seen and read, I’m far from the only one experiencing this.
The game constantly crashes straight to the Xbox dashboard. In some cases, the console becomes completely unresponsive and has to be disconnected from the power supply for around a minute before it can be restarted manually using the console’s power button.
This is not just affecting Xbox Insiders. Plenty of Series X players who are not enrolled in the Insider program are reporting the same problems. It has also been a widely discussed issue on the official ARC Raiders Discord.

We are talking about a game that, following one update, appears to have serious stability issues on a console that otherwise runs my games without any problems.
And now, roughly two months later, where are we?
    Still waiting.

I have submitted multiple reports to Xbox. I have even reached out to Asha Sharma on X, tagging Xbox and trying to bring attention to the situation. Yet I still have no meaningful resolution or clear indication that this issue is being properly escalated.

Embark Studios is aware of the problem, and the response has essentially been that they are ‘working on it’. I understand that fixing technical issues takes time, but two months of this, with no reliable way for affected players to play on their consoles, is incredibly frustrating.

Why this matters to me personally

ARC Raiders is pretty much the only game I play. I have over 3,000 hours in the game, including around 2,000 hours topside. I play solo competitively, work on Trials, and maintain the highest solo rank in Cantina Legend.
This isn’t a game I occasionally launch for an hour. It’s the game I have invested thousands of hours into, and the one I want to keep playing on my preferred hardware.
When the game became unplayable on my Series X, I tried Xbox Cloud Gaming. Unfortunately, that wasn’t an acceptable alternative for me, so I moved to GeForce NOW.

I also came across discussions suggesting that ARC Raiders performs better on GeForce NOW when launched through Steam rather than through an Xbox account. I decided to test it myself and bought the Steam version on sale for €20.
The difference was significant. In my experience, the Steam version on GeForce NOW delivered roughly twice the performance compared with playing through my Xbox account on the same service.

I don’t know exactly where the technical problem lies, and I’m not going to pretend I do. But that experience raises a very simple question:

Why can’t I use the Xbox hardware I paid for to play a game I paid for, without it repeatedly crashing my console?

I am now a happy GeForce NOW Ultimate subscriber, and I have found a workaround that allows me to continue playing. But that doesn’t mean I should have to abandon my Series X to play a game that previously worked on it.
I bought the console. I bought and play the game. I should be able to expect a reasonable level of stability.

    So, what happens now?

I’m posting this here because I want some answers from the Xbox side of things.

Has this issue been properly escalated to the relevant Xbox engineering team?

Are Xbox and Embark actively working together to investigate the crashes affecting Series X consoles?

Is there any official acknowledgement of the potential console-level stability issues associated with update 1.45.0?

And most importantly, is there any realistic timeline for a fix?

I’m not asking Xbox to magically fix everything overnight. I’m asking for visibility, communication, and some indication that this situation is being taken seriously.
It’s particularly frustrating when a game update appears to trigger such serious problems, affected players report them repeatedly, and weeks go by without a clear resolution.

Yes, I’m frustrated. And I believe I have every reason to be.

I don’t want to abandon Xbox. I don’t want to stop playing ARC Raiders. I simply want to play my favourite game on my favourite hardware, the way I was able to before this update.

Can someone from Xbox please take a closer look at this situation and help get it properly investigated?

Because right now, the workaround is to leave Xbox behind and pay for another platform just to play a game that should be running on the console I already own.

Is anyone at Xbox listening? I hope you do ..

I’m just tired! I haven’t touched my console almost two months now. Should I sell it or should I wait ..

    Thank you.

Forza Horizon 4 won't connect to online session, but does connect to The Trial and Playground games

I don't know if these server problems are related to the updates they do for the game.

I remember not long after I installed the game on my Xbox series x last year it received an update a day or 2 later and I started getting a server error message on my Xbox series x yet on my Xbox one x the game played fine without an error message.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider FPS Boost

    Hi,

With the exception of I think 'Tomb Raider', both Rise and Shadow of the Tomb Raider already have 60fps built into the game as the Series X can use all the features of the Xbox One X enhanced titles. The option to use 60fps 'performance mode' should be available to change in the in-game menu.

    Xbox updates

    I have a X, S, and two 1's

They do not update at the same time, Especially Games

Forza 7 on the S and 1's updated then two weeks later the X updated, (probably the 4k content)

For the Xbox's I use all the time, I have them on auto update.

    Backwards compatibility

Unfortunately, there are no more backward compatibility developments for Xbox One. The team responsible for the feature is now working on implementing it on Xbox Series X, being launched later this year. It is believed - but not yet confirmed - that the
back-compatibility feature on Series X will permit any game from any previous Xbox generation to be played on the console natively. We should hear more in the coming months, but if it's currently back-compatible on Xbox One, it will be on Xbox Series X.
