Xbox Series X and Sony XBR issue with Switching Input

Hi!

I have a Sony Bravia XDR 55” tv with a Xbox Series X, and Apple TV 4K, a Nintendo Switch and a FireTV.

The issue I have is with the TV being switched to the wrong input.

I’ll turn my Xbox on and the TV powers up correctly and switches to Input 3 which is where the Xbox is connected. After about 10 seconds the TV will auto switch away from input 3 and over to input 2 where the Apple TV is connected. (Apple TV is off…). This also occurs if you hit the Xbox home button.

I have been trying to figure this out for hours. it’s strange because the Xbox is the only device experiencing this issue.

I did try sealing the Apple TV and Xbox around and the problem occurred in reverse.

Anyone experience this issue?

I believe that your HDMI-CEC feature on your console is enabled. Please disable it and see for the result.

Having the same issue with a Sony Bravia XBR-55X850D

I have a Sony XBR and I've encountered the same error with Prime, but only on my Xbox One X and like ChrisWoodcroft stated, once I disable the 4K display setting and switch my Xbox video over to 1080P, it appears to mitigate my chances running into this
error. My PS4 and first generation Xbox One run Prime Video on my Sony XBR perfectly fine.

Oddly though, I only encounter this error with Prime Video; Netflix and all other apps on my Xbox One X work just fine. I've uninstalled and reinstalled Prime Video, but to no avail in circumventing this HDCP error.

I'm hoping the growing prevalence of this HDCP error is being noticed by Microsoft as it seems to be an Xbox-specific problem right now and I imagine a future update can easily remedy this.

It seems to be a VERY obscure (but capable issue) basically I ended speaking to somebody who had the exact same problem I had. After I had purchased my new expenssive HDMI and also factory reset my Series X the sound issue happened again and as i remembered that this other fellow had been having the same issue in which all he would do was change inputs for a moment and then immediately change back (which fixes it) I asked him if he happened to have a Sony XH90 and he actually has a Sony X90J (which to sum up is basically the *exact* same TV as mine). So it seems this particular line of new Xbox Series X ready televisions with 4k and HDMI 2.1 have an odd glitch where they will mess audio up (rarely) and all you have to do is switch inputs and then switch back! Hopefully it gets fixed in a Sony firmware update. Thank you so much for all your help!
