    Hi thanks for your time in looking at my problem and providing me an answer.

    I can't seem to get my XSX to work properly with my 4K tv. My tv is a JVC tv. When I select 4K UHD, the screen turns on and off from a black screen to the xbox screen asking me if the resolution is okay. However, the screen switching stops eventually and I get a message saying there was an issue playing 4K on the tv.

    My xbox says that my tv supports 4K and 60HZ, but for some reason it is not working. I tried switching HDMI ports and using a different HDMI but to no avail. 1080p works fine but displaying in 4K does not work. Any help would be appreciated and let me know if you need more information. Thank you.

    Thanks Luke,

    I am using the 4K HDMI 2.1 cables. I am thinking this is an XBOX series X and/or LG software issue as my PS5 plays just fine with the 4K settings on the LG TV and the XBOX plays on other non-LG TVs.

    I've never had an issue with

    my Onkyo receiver it's actually fixed my issue with my series x and lg c1 issue and my Onkyo receiver came out in 2017 and it supports 4k hdr and Dolby vision. All work perfect. The issue is a Xbox issue as my 360 and my ps3 and my series s never had an issue directly to the tv it's only with the series x and it's strange that you blame the tv when all other devices work but the series x.

    I have a lg 4k tv with hdmi 2.0
    That will work fine with Xbox Series X,

    However you wont get the 120hz refresh rates at 4K, as that requires to have HDMI 2.1, other than that your TV is fine to use, if your not to bothered about 120hz refresh rates at 4K as an issue for you, there's no need for a new TV.

    Well no your best would be 1440p by 120hz if your tv would support that

    Most games will only support 1080p depending on the tv

    You gotta remember the series s is NOT a 4k console

    It only upscales movies and TV shows to 4k not games

    If you force it to 4k you will drop frames like crazy

    Series x and xbox one xis 4k native at 60 and 30hz

    Series s and below are 1440p max with recommended 90hz max

    I have not. I only have one 4k hdmi port on my tv and I don’t have another 4k cable to swap out. The same port and cable work with different consoles so I’m worried it’s an issue with the Xbox series x.
